I followed the "success plan"—until I realized it wasn’t mine. For years, I did everything I was supposed to do. I earned the degree. I landed the "good job." I climbed the leadership ladder. From the outside, my life looked exactly like success was supposed to look. But inside? I felt disconnected, exhausted, and unfulfilled. I ignored it at first. I told myself I just needed to push through. But my body told me otherwise—stress, headaches, and complete emotional burnout. I had checked all the right boxes… so why did I feel so empty?
The Moment That Changed Everything
Then, one day, everything changed. I’ll never forget the moment.
I was sitting in my car during my lunch break, feeling drained and stuck. And for the first time, I asked myself: “If I could do anything, what would it be?” The answer came immediately. "I would do something that makes a difference in people’s lives." And just like that, I felt free. I realized that the reason I felt disconnected wasn’t because I wasn’t good at my job—it was because I was out of alignment with my true purpose. I had been living up to others' expectations, not but not being true to my authentic self.
That moment set me on a path of deep self-discovery. Now, as a Leadership Purpose Coach, I help high-achieving women like you align their success with their true purpose—so they can lead with impact AND live fulfilled. I created The PurposeMAKER Pathway, a framework that helps women: ✔ Reconnect with who they truly are beyond their titles and achievements ✔ Make Purpose-Aligned Decisions that feel clear, confident, and right ✔ Create a career and life that reflects their true calling Because success shouldn’t feel empty.
What I Believe You don’t have to start over to find fulfillment. Success and purpose can coexist—you don’t have to choose one or the other. When you align with your true purpose, your leadership, energy, and impact expand. If you’re feeling stuck in the "trap of success", I want you to know: ➡ You’re not alone. ➡ You don’t have to figure this out on your own. ➡ And you don’t have to settle for a version of success that doesn’t fit you.
More About Robin
Since I was about 6 years old Robin has been interested in the big question of life. Often I wandered off to a quiet place… just to think… and ponder about the meaning of life.
Over time my early childhood curiosity followed me well into adulthood. That led me to dedicate years of research, study, and writing to pursue questions of meaning through the academic study of religion. As a result of my pursuit I earned a Ph.D. in Religious Studies from Claremont Graduate University.
In turn, that led me to become a tenured professor in the Religious Studies Department at Mount Saint Mary’s University in Los Angeles where I teach high achieving, emerging women leaders to pursue their own questions of meaning and purpose.
